Latest Review of Cabellas Dangerous Hunts

If you have not seen Cabela's new hunting game, Dangerous Hunts 2011, you might just see the title and just presume it is a hunting simulation of some type. We All might have played this variety of hunting game in the past, the type where you pick your weapon, decide on some camouflage, and waste a lot of time just trying to see the difference between animal poop and a lump of earth. Yet someplace among taking a shot at a cougar in awesome slow motion and defending yourself from dangerous attacking wolves who have menacing red eyes, you will know that belief does not quite apply to this game.

This version of Dangerous Hunts 2011 is better viewed as a game of survival first and a hunting game 2nd. The story has you in the shoes of a hunting man that goes by the name of Cole whose adventure has him going across a wide variety of terrain around America and Canda and the continent of Africa to kill wild animals that have been taken over by demonic spirits. In one level we were shown Cole coming out from an avalanche in the dead of night, making his way across the dangerous forest and fending off wild animals attempting to hunt him while dealing with other dangers, such as unseen animal traps and icy gullies.

Similar to earlier versions of Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, you'll play the game using a special firearm peripheral equipped with an adjustable telescopic sight and stock, in addition to normal controllers in order to control your range of motion so that the player don't have to play on rails. The red scope is cool, and cool to operate. It can be actually kinda difficult to see through it. In order to use the telescopic sight, just depress the button labled A and it makes the screen viewable through the red lens. Keep in mind, it is difficult to see anything, making for a annoying game.

Besides allowing some more control over how the gun is shot, the gun controller is equipped with a awesome feature aptly called Hunter Vision. This feature allows you to see things that are hidden by momentarily making the game screen a very garbled hodge podge of reddish colors that can be deciphered by aiming through the rifle scope of the weapon simulating an infrared scope. For those of you that had the old gun in which the trigger was in the front of the gun, this gun is much better. The trigger is now in the rear of the gun, and the gun can bre reloaded by a pump located on the front. Furthermore, all of the controls are fullycustomizable (unlike last time). The gun is fully adjustable so particularly big people can retain the stock of the gun in their shoulder while looking through the telescopic sight, adding realism to the game.

In addition to the aforementioned story mode, Dangerous Hunts will come with a selection of other modes, including multiplayer options, such as the Shooting Gallery like other hunting games. Additionally, Cabela's Dangerous Hunts in general is exceptionally difficult to play. I really liked playing the game and I also like to play hunting games online as much as I can.
